The Arexevan - Wolfsbane Stable were able to celebrate when Wolfsbane smashed a field of Class 5 Division 2 gallopers by five and a half lengths at Kranji on Friday night.
Ridden by Joao Moreira, the horse provided the first win of the year for trainer Stephen Gray and the win was also the first for an Arexevan Racing horse in combination with Stephen Gray.
Moreira gave the horse a beautiful ride settling sixth just a few lengths of the pace in the 1400m event. At the home turn the horse was going forward and Moreira angled out for a run. On getting to the outside, Wolfsbane had a brief bumping duel with stablemate Mongolian Star before drawing clear to win.
Wolfsbane has certainly been a challenging horse for the Arexevan-Wolfsbane Stable. His last win came over 800 days ago when he was owned by Sheik Mohammed's Darley operation in Australia.
In 15 starts in Singapore the horse had never been able to get into the places but turned that statistic around in emphatic style on Friday.
