The Arexevan Racing & Robert Sim owned Thrilla In Manila scored his first win for 13 months on Friday night in a 1200 metre Class 4 Handicap on the Kranji turf.
The Thrilla had returned from a five month spell in June after having some bone chips removed and had continued his excellent form that had seen him placed in the top four in his last eight starts.
Trainer Cliff Brown has done a super job with the horse from the time he entered his stable and was able to have him in tip top shape for Magic Joao Moreira to do the rest on race day.
Moreira has a super record on the horse. He now has 4 rides on the Shovhog gelding for 3 wins and a third and had not been on board since the horses last win 13 months ago.
Thrilla was seen as a limited horse in his early career with his three wins coming on the Polytrack over 1000-1100 metres. This victory over 1200 metres was the horses first win on turf despite the fact that he had some good form with placings over 1200 & 1400 metres in the past.
Thrilla has now had 26 starts for 4 wins and with his many placings has amassed over S$172,000 in earnings.
