The Arexevan Racing owned Hint showed his mettle with a victory in the $95,000 Open Benchmark 89 handicap over 2000m on the turf track at Kranji.

The victory was Hint's sixth from 31 starts in the Malayan Racing Association and took his earnings to over S$260,000 + RM 45,000.

The win was also a timely boost for jockey V.Sivan, who scored for the first time since winning the Group 1 Perak Derby over 2400m on Sakima on the 24th April.

Jumping from barrier one, Sivan had Hint tucked away on the fence with only King Faalcon behind him. About 600 metres from home Moreira on Martial Art made his move. Sivan tracked Martial Art but with a lot of horse under him had drawn level at the top of the straight and quickly dashed clear to put the issue beyond doubt some 250 metres from home. Sivan rode Hint hands and heels and maintained a half length margin at the line with Steadfast Warrior in third.

Trainer, Steven Burridge was very happy with the horses form. "He's become a lot more solid since we gelded him. The pull in weights helped him tonight and he's done a good job".

How far he'll go, we never know. Look, the Gold Cup is a long range plan, but if he gets in with a small weight, who knows?".

Arexevan Racing will now look to give Hint a short let up after a sensational preparation where his Eight starts netted three wins, three seconds a third and a sixth and S$180,000 in prize money.
