MRA's MOST EXPENSIVE HORSE, STAR PROSPERITY WINS AT IPOH

Star Prosperity l. L'Heritier (Redoute's Choice (AUS) x Salameh (AUS)) has shed his Maiden status when winning a RM 55,000 Class 4 Handicap over the 1100 metre straight course at the Perak Turf Club today.

Star Prosperity, now a four year old started life in the public eye by becoming the highest priced yearling at the 2008 William Inglis and Sons Easter Yearling Sale in Sydney when he was knocked down for A$2,700,000 to Sheikh Mohammed's Darley Australia operation. The price was the highest for the sale.

Racing as L'Heritier, the horse came up against Black Caviar at its first start. In total the horse had six starts for hall of fame trainer, Lee Freedman in Australia for a third place at Geelong, two fourth placings in the country and A$5,050 in earnings.

Singapore based agents, Arexevan Racing saw the horse as being one that would suit Malaysia and had the horse gelded before traveling to Kuala Lumpur.

The horse was purchased by Khor Soo Ping's Gold Star Stable and has been successful at its fourth start in Malaysia under the care of Selangor trainer Richard Lines. Lines' former top apprentice Jackson Low was the winning rider.

The time of 1:03.1 was pretty handy for the Ipoh 1100m straight track on a day where Low rode a treble on the eight race card. Low finished off the program in the high grade race of the day with an all the way win in track record of 1:21.6 for 1400m on Australian bred six year old gelding Wai Kor l. Brilliant Flight (Dante's Fury (AUS) x Brilliant Princess (AUS)).
